| East Of San Diego - Location | Descanso - East of San Diego | California | USA | EAST OF SAN DIEGO is a unique, nature embedded, hillside mountain property, only minutes away from Cuyamaca State Park, located in Descanso California. The main house is surrounded with beautiful oak-trees and native boulders, complimented with colorful flowers and lots of greenery. The views are spectacular all around the property. There is also a large coral, a little barn and a horse shelter, plus a well-house on the foothills of the property. Close to the main structure is a cute little Guesthouse with a panoramic view from its upper yard and behind pure wilderness including trails throughout it. The back of the house offers country-like garden-sheds with an attached dog-kennel, a hothouse and a little veggy-garden. The Cuyamaca mountain peak and a nice view down to a horse-ranch valley accompanies the backyard. We, a german couple, are extremely flexible in regards to altering anything outside or inside the house in order to accommodate any setting for a particular production/scene. For more extensive parking a huge rentable lot is only a few hundred feet away. |

| Balboa Inn | Newport Beach | California | USA | In its day (1929), was the number one hostelry on the Orange County Coast and today Balboa Inn The Resort is one of the most popular resorts on the West Coast. The Inn has been remodeled and modernized a number of times but its graceful Spanish architecture remains virtually unchanged today. At one time the Balboa Theater, operated by the colorful, hard-drinking, hard-swearing character Madame La Rue, stood next to the Balboa Inn. The "Balboa" got its name from the coastal Balboa Peninsula at Newport Beach, California. People from the Los Angeles area who'd seen it started referring to it as 'The Balboa', or the dance being done in Balboa. So just what is the famous Balboa Peninsula? Why did so many people travel here and become exposed to this dance? It's hard to get a consensus view concerning the origins of Balboa. Many dance historians state that the dance was a derivation of Foxtrot, others believe it evolved from the Charleston or Collegiate Shag. Willie Desatof an original Balboa dancer of great distinction believes it evolved from the Rhumba. |
